Bob Ballog, Eagle Exploration & Production Co., Inc.   

Mr. Ballog graduated from California State College at Long Beach in 1965 with a B.S. in geology.  From 1965 to 1975 he worked for Shell Oil Company as a Palynologist, first in their Western Region Exploration group in Los Angeles and later at the Shell Research Lab in Houston.  While at Shell he worked in California, Washington, and Alaska collaborating with exploration geologists in developing prospects. 

In 1975 he went to work for Union Oil Company (UNOCAL) moving back to southern California.  At UNOCAL he was involved, as a palynologist working closely with geologists, in exploration projects in California, Nevada, south Alaska, the North Slope, Bristol Bay, the Gulf of Alaska as well as international projects in Indonesia, Thailand, and Myanmar.  During this time he also worked with geochemists at UNOCAL’s Research Center developing a geochemical technique for identifying potential productive zones in the Monterey Formation.  This technique was used by UNOCAL’s geologists in California and subsequently extended to other areas throughout the company.

In 1991 UNOCAL closed their California office and moved to Houston.  In Houston Bob transferred into an exploitation group that was responsible for evaluating exploration and development plays in South Texas.  He next worked in the Oklahoma Development Group and was responsible for drilling a $5,000,000 deep Morrow well in western Oklahoma.  He also worked as development geologist for UNOCAL’s Van Field in east Texas drilling infill wells and initiating a study of the waterflood potential of the field. 

Bob has over 34 years in the oil business and has been employed by Eagle Exploration and Production since 2008 as President/Chief Geologist.  In that capacity he provides consulting services to Eno Petroleum.


Robert F. Reynolds, geologist and Principal in Borders Exploration L.L.C.

Mr. Reynolds received his B.S. degree from Central Michigan University in 1971 and his M.A. from the same school in 1975.  He progressed from Teaching Assistant to Geology Instructor at Northwestern Michigan College.  In 1978 he began his consulting career in Michigan founding his own company in 1984.  Since 1984 he has worked as a geologic consultant for various companies in Michigan.  In 1996 he co-founded Borders Exploration L.L.C. with Mikel Salinas to develop projects in Michigan. 

Robert’s area of expertise includes: well site evaluation, e-log analysis, reservoir analysis, oil and gas exploration using standard exploration techniques along with new geochemical methods including helium, microbials, and standard hydrocarbon detection.  He has also served as a Expert Witness in court cases involving geology.
